first impression. upon first impressed van is kind and someone that attempts at clicking with anyone that she crosses paths with. there's no point of being a bitch or a dick to anyone, especially not until they give you a reason to. until then, she as kind as kind can be. also considered a bit weird, it is also fairly noticable that she's cut from a different cloth. life is all about going through different experiences that you can look back on and it's her main motivation to get into a few sticky situations.
overview. a quirky sweetheart that's worth keeping an eye on for something crazy to happen.

personality.
Before the move to California, Vannifer was considered a chameleon of sorts. One day she was fine with living up to her parent’s expectations. Being okay with soirees for girls her age and occasional get together’s for the young girls from her posh prep school, surprisingly things could change in the blink of an eye. The following day the same kid that went horseback riding could easily be the same kid riding down the street roller skating with a massive pair of headphones on. Then like now, she adapted to her surroundings, which at times could be confusing. Depending on the day she could what you wanted her to be or someone new completely. Because of this, her parents often feared she could go down the wrong path, an assumption in which she would try to mold herself with people unsavory. This never being the case, as a child on up Van was simply in for living for the day and gaining different life experiences rather than getting into no good. Sticky situations? Sure.

Somewhat considered a semi wild child, she's never overstepped that line that'd get her in trouble. She knew exactly what made her parents tick as well as anyone. A proclaimed people watcher, she likes to learn all that there is to learn about others she surrounds herself with to know off hand how far she can go with them. It's one of the reasons why she feels she can get along with anyone once she's got their personality down pact. As for herself it feels that some people will never truly get her. Being someone that changes day and night, not everyone will know the same girl.

Considered a goof ball and not to be taken seriously unless the situation calls for it. Known to joke around and play practical jokes on folks despite the fact they tend to never work. More into laughing with friends, surfing, sleeping in and well doing anything someone at her age is into. She's not wise beyond her years but not immature either. She is who she is and you'll either like her that or not at all.

likes. sleeping, watching adultswim, shopping, manicures, watching the nba finals, rollerskating.
dislikes. spiders, cats, catty chicks, muscular men, comedies.

story

family. mother + father + grandmother. the kramer family is a close knit family that usually get along with one another.

Vannifer Kramer hated early mornings; in fact she hated them with a passion. Often she avoided waking up any time before noon like the plague, yet this specific morning she almost had no choice but to. Waking up by the sound of her fathers never ending yell of her name, his last boisterous holler made her heart stop. It had echoed through the walls and shook through the entire core of her body so much that she was wide eyed before even seeing what he needed. She always had a nervousness that was understandable when it came to her father. The boom of his voice being a reason that cemented such feelings, she was practically in a tizzy upon the instant she heard him. Nearly falling out of the bed to find to rush to her bedroom door, her feet stomped down the steps to the kitchen where the large man sat. With a blank glare in reaction to her entrance to the kitchen, she watched on with wide eyes when he passed over the envelope from school. Feeling her heart pound in her chest from what she was sure was her winter semester grades; she took a peak into the already opened letter. A few A’s and a few B’s, her heart slowly stopped pounding. “Good job.” He replied in a monotone and well that was about it. There wasn’t any emotion whatsoever painted across his face or any immense praise, then again that was her father. After the many years of working in the world of business soon after leaving the Marines, he had been a lifeless being in regards to achievements as he figured was expected of you. Whatever the case may be, that was her father and it was normal in Van’s eyes. While she pondered over this on the way back to her room, she placed the letter down by her drawer and crashed back to down to her messy bed. What was now home sweet home had once been so foreign. At one point the ceiling in which her eyes were now focused on had been so unfamiliar some years ago. Of course she had to get to that moment in her life, a life that started not in there but Portland Maine.

Vannifer Kramer was born on the coldest day in January by the hands of her father when she had came too fast for her mother to make it to the hospital. Vannifer or Van as other’s called her had been a spitfire as her mother said from the moment she entered the world with her wailing cry. Often it was told that she had the spunk of her mother, the charm of her father and well the uniqueness all on her own. What had been expected was that Van would eventually grow up and act like the carbon copies of her parents. In fact she had been brought up that way with the best of the best schools in the area, the prim and proper country club membership she had even at a young age, even to the etiquette classes her father enrolled her into with hopes that she'd shape it. But it had been on one fateful late night after infuriating her father for running around outside barefoot that he came to a conclusion. Van was well...Van and there was no changing that regardless of the etiquette classes or private schools she attended. As long as she kept her grades up, was respectful and stayed out of trouble then this bohemian that wanted to break free was given the green light. From that moment on, Van was allowed to be the free spirit she couldn't contain. Her following antics from childhood on up hadn't been much of a surprise to her mother nor her father. When he was given the chance to look back on his daughter’s life, he recalled hilarious and downright odd times the family had experienced. From the time convinced her family to become vegetarians for a week to the following week she decided on being pro meat; and only meat, which made everyone completely sick for nearly a month. Of course he wouldn’t mentioned this for fears people would think Mr. Kramer was a softy. Yet even he could admit the antics of his only daughter was something to keep him on his toes. In turn what hadn't been a comfort was her harebrained schemes to nearly cut off all of her hair for so called "freedom", the tattered clothes that she thought made a statement and the late nights she came stumbling in from late night basement parties. Sure it wouldn't have been a problem had it just been a basement party but a basement party with wanna be rappers all the way without mentioning it at that age? Massive problem. She was riding the fence and her father was near his wits end. However what kept his firm hand at bay was that Van was a smart cookie with a kind heart. As cliché as it sounded, the two never had much worry academically due in part to her good grades and the fact that her friends had a very good one in her. Always helping, always caring, her parents knew they would simply have to wait for what felt like the never ending phase of their daughters free spirit to settle.

As her personality became settled with both of her parents, things became relatively still in the Kramer home. Van had slowed up a bit causing some relief on her parent’s behalf at night when the two occupied themselves with work as usual. As Van was entering Junior high, everyone had been kept busy until the news back home came out of nowhere. The news of that being her grandmothers newly diagnosed ovarian cancer. It had been a shock to everyone, especially to Van’s mother who had once been close to her mother until moving to Maine drifted the two somewhat apart. For fear that she'd lose her mother, she hadn't any second thoughts about moving back to California where she was originally from to temporarily help. Initially it was settled that she would stay west for some time while Van and her father stayed back. But both knew that not only would Vannifer’s grandmother need the support but her mother would as well. Besides despite his hard exterior, Mr. Kramer’s refused to watch his wife go through something so heavy on her own, especially after being the sole reason why she and her mother had lost that closeness they once had. It was on that particular morning she woke to his booming voice to be told that for the first time in her life, Van would live elsewhere than her beloved Cul de sac in Portland. Sure her reaction had been one of shock but the news had been pushed aside once she had been told exactly why they were. Leaving the business office both had so many years of experience with, he along with his wife and their daughter made California their home. This of course had all been something completely overwhelming to Van whom had never lived outside of Maine or visited anywhere outside of the state for more than a week vacation. All she had were stories her mother would regale her with at times whenever she missed home or pictures from short Christmas stays some years prior to. One half her had been excited by the move, yet on the other hand she couldn't help but miss her home and the simplicities of home that so many people often visited to experience. She didn't have to visit anywhere, the hidden treasures of Maine were in her backyard for whenever she wanted. Yet she didn't fight her family on moving since she knew how important it was to her mother. The adjustment once they were settled in had been hard on Van, something obvious to her parents. Gone was this vibrant girl that could light up a room with her laughter, rather now someone shy and timid. Her outgoing personality now vanished as she had now become more self conscious of herself and the lack knowledge pertaining to her new surroundings. Once excited about her move, Van wanted nothing more but to go back to her small hometown to be with the familiar faces that once made her the happiest girl in the world. Only what she desired was possibly due in part to her grandmothers sickness that had yet to lead her down a healthy road. Whether she liked it or not, Van was there to stay.

No longer had she lived in a quaint town but now in an upper class neighborhood with friends of all races, religions and backgrounds different from her own. With a skateboard perched under her arm, holding onto a pair of ballerina slippers in her hand and headphones blasting, Van finally attuned as much as she could to her new life in a new town. She had still been odd woman out yet that was what she was beginning to like about herself. This along with experiencing a new place through her own eyes and through the eyes of her friends actually made the stay better than what she thought it'd be. Being so focused in her extracurricular and family left her little time to experience all the things a normal teenager would. Or what many considered to be normal in her inner circle. Years had passed since the Kramer family relocated however the family hadn’t returned back north despite the turn of health on her grandmother’s behalf. In little time the family had managed to find themselves more settled, especially Van. Now with more friends and a few months of high school left to go, she couldn’t imagine being elsewhere. She was making the best of the situation and actually having a good time or at least the best she could. After all it was home sweet home now.
